The Splendor of Heaven

The Splendor of heaven was clothed in our flesh.
Our Maker and Master a servant was born.
He suffered among us, acquainted with grief,
Revealing to rebels the God we had scorned.

The Splendor of heaven was slain for our sin.
The cross and the curse were his Majesty’s choice.
He offered his body and blood on the tree,
A spotless lamb slaughtered so we could rejoice.

The Splendor of heaven was raised as our hope.
Our heavenly Priest is our comfort and shield.
Through tears and temptations we look to his throne,
Awaiting our King in his splendor revealed.
